The Seven Islands were once Portugese territories lying off India,s west coast.They were gifted as a dowry to the english in the 17th-century, by the 19th-century the seven islands were merged together due to land recalmation projects.In modern times the combined islands now form the southern part of the Indian city of Mumbai.
